TPC Twin Cities is an Arnold Palmer design that opened in 2000 on a former sod farm north of Minneapolis, shaped with input from Minnesota's own Tom Lehman. It's flat, immaculate parkland golf — but don't let flat fool you: there are 27 water hazards and 72 bunkers scattered across the property, and water is in play on roughly half the holes.

The pros treat it as one of the year's great birdie-fests — the 72-hole record is 260, and the course has surrendered two rounds of 60. But the finish bites back: the par-4 18th plays over water and has flipped more than one Sunday leaderboard. Bomb it, wedge it, and hold your breath on the last.

• Scottie Scheffler has never played the 3M Open — until this week. The world No. 1 committed back in May, and locals are calling it the strongest field in the event's eight-year history.
• Defending champ Kurt Kitayama made 20 birdies on the weekend last year — the most in any PGA Tour event since 2003 — including a Saturday 60 that tied the tournament record.
• Fresh off his Open Championship win, Ryan Fox showed Sunday nerve is real: he birdied the 72nd hole at Royal Birkdale to win by one. The 3M Open's watery 18th has produced the same kind of drama.
• In 2019, somebody shot 62 or better every single day of the tournament. Bring your birdie count.

Kurt Kitayama torched TPC Twin Cities in 2025 — 65-71-60-65 for a 261 total (−23), edging Sam Stevens by a single shot. It was his second PGA Tour title, powered by one of the hottest weekends the Tour has seen in two decades. He's back this week to defend.
