Start a round in GSPro
Course, players, tees, go. About ninety seconds from the main menu to your first tee shot.
Before you start
- GSPro open, signed in, and showing it’s connected — see Log in with your GSPro account.
- Everyone who’s playing, so you can add them all up front.
1Choose Local Play
- From the GSPro main menu, choose Local Play. That’s a normal round on this bay with the people in it.
- Ignore the online / tournament options for now — they’re for organised events and need a set-up of their own.
2Pick a course
- Use the search box to type part of a course name — Pebble, Augusta, Sawgrass, Gleannloch — or scroll the list.
- Tap a course to see its card: length, par, and difficulty.
- Choose Select (or similar) to lock it in.
First time out? Pick a course you know from TV — it’s more fun when you recognise the holes. Our This Week in Golf page names the course the pros are playing this week; it’s almost always in the list.
3Add your players
- Choose Add player once for each person who’ll be hitting. Give each a name so the scorecard makes sense.
- For each player, set the tee box. Not sure? Pick the middle set — you can always move up next round.
- Set left- or right-handed per player. This matters: the sensor reads a lefty swing from the other side.
- Leave club selection on automatic unless you want to pick every club yourself.
Everyone in your bay can play from one booking — the price is per bay, per hour, not per person. Up to 8 players fit in a round.
4Set the round options
Sensible defaults are already in place; change only what you care about:
- Holes — 18, front 9, back 9, or a custom range. A 9-hole round for two people fits a one-hour booking; 18 for a foursome is closer to three.
- Format — stroke play is the default. Scramble, match play and others are covered in Game modes & settings.
- Conditions — wind, green speed, pin position and time of day. Calm wind and medium greens are a fair place to start.
- Gimmes / putting — a gimme distance auto-holes short putts and keeps the group moving. Our bays default to a 6-foot gimme.
- Choose Start Round.
5Tee off
- The first hole loads with the first player’s name on screen. Wait for the ready indicator before swinging — hitting early is the most common “my shot didn’t count”.
- Ball on the marked spot, swing, and watch it fly. Your numbers appear on the side or bottom of the screen.
- GSPro walks to the ball and prompts the next player in order. Just step up when your name shows.
- Need the menu mid-round — mulligan, scorecard, drop, quit? Press Esc on the keyboard or tap the menu button on screen. Details in Game modes & settings.
Putting: when your ball is on the green, take a normal putting stroke. Inside the gimme distance the game holes it for you and moves on.
