Not long ago, a Tomball golfer who wanted to hit balls in air conditioning had a short list and a long drive. As of this fall, the three closest simulator venues are all within about 20 minutes of Old Town Tomball, and each is built around a different idea of what indoor golf is for. That is good news for everyone who plays around here, and it also means the question has changed from "is there one?" to "which one fits the way I play?" Here is where each venue is, what it runs, what it costs, and where Birdie Central fits into a Tomball golfer's week.

Tomball sits at the junction of SH 249 and FM 2920, and the three venues fan out from there: one inside the city, one on the far east edge of the 77375 ZIP code near Creekside Park, and one due east down FM 2920 in the Klein and Gleannloch corridor of Spring. Which is closest depends on which side of town you live on.
Back Nine Golf, Tomball
The newest option and the only one with a Tomball street address. Back Nine opened its Tomball location at 1417 Graham Drive, Suite 100, on April 30, 2026, part of a chain that already has bays in Spring and near The Woodlands. The bays run Full Swing simulators, the building is open 24/7, and a membership is not required to book. Public tee times are listed from $65 an hour, with memberships that add unlimited play and guest privileges.
Swing Zone Golf, Kuykendahl at Rayford
Swing Zone is the area's established indoor golf and sports bar, at 24036 Kuykendahl Road near W. Rayford, just outside Creekside Park. The address says Tomball, but it sits on the eastern edge of the ZIP code and is closer to The Woodlands' west side than to downtown Tomball. It runs Golfzon simulators, has a full kitchen and bar, and offers lessons, leagues and events.
Birdie Central, Champion Forest Drive in Spring
That is us. We are at 19059 Champion Forest Drive, about two minutes up the road from Gleannloch Pines Golf Club and roughly 20 minutes east of Old Town Tomball along FM 2920, closer if you live on the Gleannloch Farms or Champion Forest side of the line. Five things to compare before you book
1. What the launch monitor measures
Full Swing, Golfzon and Uneekor all produce a believable ball flight on the screen. Where they differ is how they read the club. The Uneekor XO2 in our bays uses two overhead cameras to photograph the club and ball at impact, so every shot reports club path, face angle, attack angle and strike location on the face, alongside ball speed, launch and spin. 2. Per bay or per person
This is the line item that changes the bill most. Some venues price per player; others, including Birdie Central, price the bay. A per-bay rate means a foursome on a Friday night splits one $45 hour four ways, about $11 each, while a solo session pays the full bay rate. Know which model you are walking into before you compare sticker prices, because a $65 bay and a $25 seat are not the same thing.
3. When you can actually get in
Two of the three venues offer 24/7 access, and there is a reason that has become the standard for practice-first facilities: the hours most golfers have free are 6 AM before work or 9 PM after the kids are down. 4. Food and drink, or the lack of it
Swing Zone is a restaurant with simulators. Birdie Central is a simulator lounge with canned beer and wine during staffed hours and a standing invitation to bring in dinner from anywhere in the shopping center. If the meal is the point, pick the kitchen. If the golf is the point and dinner is a taco run on the way, pick the lounge and save the difference.
5. Private bay or open floor
If you are working on something, the room matters. Our two private suites have a door, a 55-inch data display and spotlights over the mat, the right place for a focused hour with a launch monitor. The four open bays share the lounge, the right place for a league night or a group that wants to heckle across the room. Ask any venue whether a private option exists and what it costs. The Gleannloch loop
A lot of Tomball golfers already play Gleannloch Pines. Price for the golfer who comes often
Weekday afternoons and late nights are $25 an hour for an open bay and $35 for a private one. Weekday evenings from 4 to 9 PM are $35 and $45. Friday and Saturday are one flat rate all day, $45 open and $55 private, and Sunday is $35 open and $45 private. There is no minimum, no membership requirement, and the full grid is on the play and pricing page. A Players Pass at $19 a month takes $5 off every one of those hourly rates, which pays for itself by the fourth hour you play.
If you are playing more than about six hours a month, a Birdie or Eagle membership replaces the hourly rate with a flat one, includes the private bay at no extra charge, and adds a 14- or 21-day advance booking window. Eagle, at $329 a month, is roughly the price of three rounds at Gleannloch for unlimited practice at any hour.
The 20-handicapper's room
Most of the people in our bays on a weeknight are the golfer who breaks 90 sometimes, wants to break it every time, and has figured out that the fastest way there is a launch monitor and a plan. A first visit from Tomball, step by step
Getting here. From Old Town Tomball, take FM 2920 east about six miles, turn right on Champion Forest Drive, and we are just past the golf club at 19059, Suite 103. From the SH 249 side, Spring Cypress Road east to Champion Forest and then north works just as well. Budget 15 to 20 minutes.
Booking. Bookings run through Whoosh, on the web or in the app. Pick the day, the hour, and open or private. Walk-ins are welcome during staffed hours when a bay is free, but Friday and Saturday evenings fill, so booking is the safe move. Clubs. Bring yours or borrow ours at no extra charge. Sneakers are fine, and there is no dress code.
Staffed hours. Monday through Thursday 10 AM to 9 PM, Friday and Saturday 10 AM to 10 PM, and Sunday 12 PM to 5 PM. That is when the bar is open and someone is on hand to get a first-timer dialed in; every other hour is self-serve.
