TPC Southwind has hosted Memphis's Tour stop since 1989, and it plays nothing like a regular-season birdie-fest. It's a par 70 at 7,244 yards with water on 10 of the 18 holes and close to 100 bunkers — tight fairways, tilted greens, and trouble everywhere you look. For a playoff opener where 20 players are about to see their season end, that's a recipe for Sunday drama.

The two holes everyone talks about: the par-3 11th, a do-or-die shot over water to an island-style green, and the 14th — a 239-yard par 3 that ranks among the toughest on the entire Tour year after year. Survive those two all week and you've earned your check.

• This is where the playoffs get real: only the top 70 in FedExCup points made it to Memphis, and just 50 move on to next week's BMW Championship. Every shot counts double this week.
• Memphis has hosted a Tour event since 1958, and FedEx has had its name on it since 1986 — one of the longest-running sponsorships in golf.
• The first sub-60 round in PGA Tour history happened at this event: Al Geiberger's famous 59 in 1977, back when the Memphis stop played at Colonial Country Club. He's been "Mr. 59" ever since.
• Defending champ Justin Rose stole it last year — four straight birdies down the stretch to force a playoff, then two more in sudden death to beat J.J. Spaun on the third extra hole.
• That win made Rose, at 45, the oldest PGA Tour winner since Phil Mickelson's 2021 PGA Championship. Experience travels well in Memphis.

Justin Rose turned the 2025 edition into an all-timer — he birdied four consecutive holes late on Sunday to catch J.J. Spaun, then birdied two more in the playoff to win on the third extra hole. It was worth $3.6 million and made him the Tour's oldest winner in four years. He's back this week to defend.

The LPGA heads to Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Portland, Oregon — a 1924 classic that has hosted the Portland Classic more than thirty times, making this one of the Tour's most familiar stops. Japan's Akie Iwai defends: she closed with a 66 last year to win by four for her first LPGA title, joining her twin sister Chisato as a rookie winner in the same season. The purse is $2 million.
